A 0.75" thick block around the entry deters predators from reaching into the cavity, assisted by the deep design of the nest box. Periodically check on nestlings by lifting one side panel upward, and keep it securely closed using the small, metal latch the rest of the season. An included hanger readily attaches to the predrilled holes on the back panel, making installation against a wall or fence simple, and the 0.75" thick pine boards offer fantastic, seasonal insulation. The home requires only a hammer and Phillips head screwdriver for assembly, and is a wonderful project for kids and adults alike.
