Description

Attract more birds and fewer squirrels with spicy Fire Mix!

Does not harm squirrels or birds!

Squirrels can eat large amounts of bird feed and destroy bird feeders in the process. Brown's Fire Mix is an inexpensive, natural, easy-to-use method for keeping squirrels and chipmunks away from your wild bird feeders. When mixed into wild bird seed, Fire Mix is a safe and effective method for discouraging these furry little “felons.”

For Best Results: Pre-treat only five pounds of seed at a time! Mix the seed well with several one or two second sprays of a non-stick vegetable spray, or two teaspoons of cooking oil before applying the Fire Mix. Mix the powder one teaspoonful at a time, taking care to mix thoroughly. Allow treated seed to sit 15-20 minutes before filling feeder.

Precautionary Statements: Do not allow children to use Fire Mix. Blend in a protected area out of the wind. Do not touch the powder when mixing. Flush with water in case of eye contact and wash your hands after use. Individuals with allergies or respiratory problems should not use this product. Fire Mix contents can temporarily irritate your nose, eyes and skin. Please be cautious when using this product.

Fire Mix

Helpful hints to discourage squirrels from coming to your feeder.

Squirrels are creatures of habit and the task is to break their habit of raiding the bird feeder. The key to breaking the cycle is to make sure the concentration of Fire Mix is high and uniform throughout the feed. The squirrel must be able to taste and smell the powder.

Certain flat or mesh bottom feeders that allow the powder to sift off the seed can be a problem when birds or squirrels agitate the feeding area. This results in a low concentration of powder on the seed and the squirrels will seize the opportunity to eat as much seed as possible in a short period of time. Our best results have been obtained with a tube-type feeder or a hopper-type feeder.

Using all sunflower seed or seed that has lower oil content on the surface of the hull can be a problem. The powder may not adhere as well on a dry seed, resulting in a lower concentration of Fire Mix.

If you have a persistent squirrel that eats the treated seed anyway – your bird feeder may be dusted with a bit of Fire Mix. It is very important that squirrels smell the Fire Mix as well as taste the Fire Mix.
